Lewes In Bloom will be selling live Xmas wreaths, bundled live greens , fresh , floral arrangements and LIB merchandise.
The 43rd Annual Christmas Tour of Lewes is December 3 from 10:00am-4:00pm, rain or shine. Advance tickets are $25.00 each; tickets purchased the day of the tour are $30.00. Children under 12 are FREE when accompanied by an adult.This self-guided tour, gives the Society a chance to show off its historic houses decorated for the season.
The parade takes place on December 3 at 5 p.m. (Rain/Snow Date: Saturday, December 10 at the same time). Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Youth Marching Group, Band, Clown, Equestrian, Antique Car (vintage 1967 or older), Decorated Vehicle (recent vintage – 1967 or newer), Fire Company, Commercial Float, Punkin’ Chunkin’ Vehicle, Community Organization Float and Youth Organization Float. Entrants will be notified in a mailing with their entry number and their parade lineup time. The parade line up takes place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and the parade begins on Savannah Road at Sussex Drive and will end in front of King’s Ice Cream Shop on Second Street. Entrants for the parade are asked to commit to the Rain/Snow date on the following Saturday, if it is necessary.
Milton Holiday House Tour – Saturday, December 10, 2016; 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm (rain, shine or snow) The Women’s Club of Milton (formerly the Milton Century Club) presents a tour of several of Milton’s most charming homes, both historic and new, as well as four historic public buildings all beautifully decorated for the holidays. Tickets: $20 in Advance; $25 Day of the Tour. Tickets available in advance at: The Mercantile at Milton, 109 Union Street; Salon Milton, 517 Chestnut Street; and Lewes Gourmet, 110 Front Street, Lewes, DE. On day of event, December 10, tickets available at: Holly Festival in the Milton Fire Hall, the Mercantile at Milton and the Milton Historical Society and Museum. The Overfalls Speaker Presentation Series is a free event open to the public. Gil Kaufman will provide an overview and update of the space program aimed at the planet Mars, including the characteristics of that planet, how far it is from Earth to Mars, the hazards of attempting to go there, and who wants to go and why. He will focus on the technology of the space vehicles that will take us there and back.
Join The Lewes Historical Society for a Day in Philadelphia Bus Trip on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased by calling The Lewes Historical Society at 302-645-7670. Day Trip ticket includes; transportation, lunch, and Seaport Museum entrance fees. Seating is limited and reservations must be made by 4:00pm on Wednesday, February 15.
