Our small farmers need help and so do the families who use food banks. This unique program supports both by purchasing food direct from family farms and delivering that local food to area food banks. The HLFM will make sure that there is a balance of fresh veggies, fruit, milk, and bread to be delivered direct to the food banks for distribution.
Historic Lewes Farmers Market Announces 2021 Scholarship Recipients
For 14 years, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) has awarded scholarships to small-scale Delmarva farmers to attend sustainable farming. This year all conferences are virtual due to the pandemic.
This year the HLFM awarded three scholarships.
A scholarship from the regular scholarship fund went to: Jay McCuthcheon from Weathered Eye Farm in Lewes, Delware. Jay attended the PASA Sustainable Agriculture Conference.
