Historic Lewes Farmers Market Announces a Market Grower Conference

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is pleased to announce a full day workshop on Friday, February 2, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the Lewes Public Library for small farmers, market gardeners and growers.  They are excited to bring to you, Ben Hartman, the author of The Lean Farm (2015), winner of the prestigious Shingo Award, and The Lean Farm Guide to Growing Vegetables (2017).  Ben will discuss how to apply the lean system on any farm to increase efficiency and profits with less work.

Ben and his wife Rachel Hershberger own and operate Clay Bottom Farm in Goshen, Indiana, where they make a comfortable living on less than one acre growing and selling specialty produce to restaurants, at a farmer’s market, and through cooperative CSAs. Hartman was appointed to the 2017 Grist 50, a list of emerging green leaders in the United States.

Registration is necessary by calling The Historic Lewes Farmers Market at 302-644-1436 or by sending an email to info@10.150.138.55. Lunch, coffee, and refreshments will be provided.  This workshop is $40. Financial assistance is available. Contact Nancy Beaumont at 2njb@comcast.net for more info.
